International President Lark Doley, DTM & I met at the Toastmasters International Convention in Chicago in August 2018. In conversation, she asked me if I had perceived and conceived what I intended to achieve for District 102 during my term. That was when I whispered to her, “To inspire to aspire our leaders to be prime among equals“. It is for this that I have chosen “Inspire to Aspire” as the Theme for our District Annual Conference on 26-28 April 2019. She has inspired me to aspire, to take you, the members of District 102, to the pinnacles of the President’s Distinguished District status.
After the October renewals, we have seen a loss of 9 Clubs & a drastic reduction in our membership count throughout the District. This maybe a temporary setback. Today, let us take on the process of being mentally stimulated with great hope and desire in conquering the shortfall of Clubs & membership before 31.12.2018.
Yes! We can do it with a concrete plan. Visualize and treat your Club as your own business entity. Would you sit back & watch your company lose your employees, lose your customers or lose your market share? I’m sure you will not sit back & accept defeat.
Formulate a concrete plan & bounce back. Have faith and get up and get it done! ‘Impossible’ or ‘I’m possible’, it is all a matter of perspective, when if we look at it a little different, we can re-frame everything.
Let’s aspire to inspire.
Dr. William Lau, DTM
