An open letter of appreciation
VPE: “Hey, Sophia. XXX can’t be your mentor anymore. Who do you want as your mentor?”
Me: “Hmmm… I don’t think having a mentor helps so… no need, let it be.”
If I were able to go back in time, I would give myself a big knock on the head. That was one of the dumbest things I have ever said because I almost rejected one of the most patient, caring and loving people in my life! Thank God, KBTC has still assigned someone to be my mentor.
My mentor, IPP Huey Chyi, has a tight schedule most of the time. Yet, she still finds time to review and give her feedback on my scripts. She still allocates her precious time to support me during contests, and even keeps reminding me to edit my speech scripts! She offers to help even before I ask for it. She is always present, patient and placid.
Without any hesitation, I will vote her to be our *star* member from Klang Bilingual TMC. Hats off to you, my mentor IPP Huey Chyi!
