Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:
I have served as President, VPE, VPM, VPPR, Tresurer & Area Director G1. I have also served as club mentor for Nusajaya Toastmaster club. All this experience can help me in my role as District leader.
I have over more than 10 years of experience working for as Consulting Engineer in construction field company. I have learned to engage people, motivate and energize others.
Currently I am running my own Consulting Engineer company business. As a Division G Director I see this as a strength in connecting with my associates and Toastmasters.
In managing my own company, I progressively earned more responsibility from individual contributor, to a manager of others, and to a manager of managers where my experience related to succession planning, compensation, team building and people development.
This experience will help me serve well as a Division Director
What experience do you have in strategic planning?
My experience in strategic planning comes from several sources. In BES Perunding as a Project engineer & in Perunding Wepco as Project Engineer also, I worked on strategic planning to meet project deadline & coordination.
I lead a team that developed a strategic plan to make sure the construction project completed on time.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?
My most recent experience is developed the financial budget for my own project & also do my own company budget.
I have experience to give estimation of project budget to my client for their reference.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?
In my role as Project Engineer & Director of my own company, I worked on teams that developed company wide procedures.
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
One major lesson from my previous leadership positions is getting others to give their comments, ideas and feelings.
My ability to listen connects me. I trust that collaboration builds better results. I believe in teamwork, so I listen to my team and together we will find the answers.
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
Leadership is a skill that is very important to have. I want to do more to serve our members globally and grow our organization. My work experience and leadership roles have prepared me to serve better.
The duty of care with good attendance and active participation. The duty of loyalty by placing the interests of Toastmasters International above my own. The duty of obedience to adhere to the Toastmasters International mission and closely abide by our bylaws and policies.
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
Toastmasters International is slogan ‘Where leader are made’ is the best. Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking – vital skills that promote self actualization, enhance leadership potential, foster human understanding, and contributes to the betterment of mankind and learn leadership skills.
I will work diligently to fulfill the purpose of our organization.
