Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:
In my current job role, I am expected to take the lead in my Solution Area as one of 4 main Services delivered out of my team.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?
In my past i have been involved in Office relocation & IT Infrastructure setup projects.
This requires me to coordinate efforts between technical engineering teams (network, accounts, voice, application) to deliver a successful relocation

What experience do you have in the area of finance?
In my time being involved in IT Relocation projects, I have had to analyze the needs of the business while also remaining cost effective.
An example of this is to do vendor selection, where i need to vet the history of the vendors and match this to our financial capabilities.
In my travels I also had to submit claim amounting to tens of thousands of ringgit. This taught me to be detail oriented when it comes to ensuring we submit our claims accurately

What experience do you have in developing procedures?
Prior to now be the overall solution lead, I was in charge to identify weaknesses & causes of slowness in our service delivery and identify ways to reduce/eliminate these gaps in process.
I still perform this task today

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
From my involvement in projects, Ive seen the importance of teamwork and proper delegation.
I have learnt from the overall Project Managers the importance to properly manage a person, namely the striking the balance between micro managing and giving the freedom to make decisions

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
I want to gain more experience in leadership in alignment with my intended career growth.
I aim to transition to a leadership position in my company and the exposure/learnings as a District leader will go a long way to build my experience/resume.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
I think the District is trying to raise the overall standard of the District Leaders to enable faster growth & simplified management of clubs.
I would say as a corporate club member many fellow ADs do not quite understand how corporate clubs run, from the influence of management to the awareness of the company struggles.
This leads to many corporate clubs dying fast. We need to come up with a document which can enable ADs & DvDs to get a better understanding of Corporate club cultures

Additional information about yourself:
I am adaptable in my approach to matters, from being very hands on to allowing team members to come to their own decisions
