I will continually work towards uplifting our clubs and members’ capability to excel, by building on our strength, incorporate new ideas and working well with you, dear members, clubs, District and TI teams. Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader:
I have over 23 years working experience, now as Manager of Engineering Department leading 10 engineers in Japanese Multinational Manufacturing – DENSO MALAYSIA SDN BHD.
With my role in Engineering management for over15 years, I have built and strengthened competencies in continuous drive for achievement, commitment to organization and customer, problem solving, leadership, organization and HR Development.
All of which are required when serving as Program Quality Director.
What experience do you have in strategic planning?
In my capacity as Engineering management in Japanese multinational company for over 16 years it’s my duty to complete planning and
strategizing my department and business unit progression and growth to ensure achieving company goals and completion of projects on or ahead of schedule.
What experience do you have in the area of finance?
In my capacity as Engineering management in Japanese multinational company for over 15 years, I prepare and manage the budget of expenses and investment, product costing and cost improvement activities for my department and business unit,
and I report monthly to top management financial report ensuring the financial are within guidelines with cost savings initiatives fulfilled.
What experience do you have in developing procedures?
In my capacity Engineering management in Japanese multinational company for 15 years, I developed and managed all procedures of my engineering department and product business unit
What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?
As club growth director I learn to be more efficient in closing the deal for new club chartering.
As program quality director now I learn to be effective in ensuring all District organized education programs effective for the members
Why do you want to serve as a District leader?
I want to serve all Toastmasters by leading the District ensuring Toastmasters and District Missions are achieved
and all practice core values of Integrity, Respect, Service and Excellence
In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?
The major objective is to build new clubs and lead clubs to excellence.
– require effective generating, managing and completing the chartering of new clubs and members
– require leading clubs to excellence / distinguished, including achieving membership qualifying goals, additional new members goals as well as retaining members.
