After a long and stressful period of waiting, the TI Dashboard finally reflected District 102’s performance results as per table below:
My mobile never stopped buzzing and vibrating. There was an incessant influx of messages streaming in. I did not read the messages as the Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Redzuan was giving his key-note address at the SME Corp Forum on “Take Control” at the material time. This phenomenon seldom happened. Deep in my heart, I knew something important must have taken place. But I never suspected that TI have updated the District’s 102 Performance Results.
I got home about 5.30 pm, switched on the mobile and saw the load of congratulatory messages of well-wishers from our fellow District Leaders from Region 13 as well as from Club EXCOs from our District. They had been waiting patiently for the last baby member of Region 13 to be distinguished, which incidentally also make Region 13 emerge as the Best among the 14 Regions.
While the dusts are fast settling down, allow me to thank from the bottom of my heart our SDOs; Special Appointees, respective support team members; Division and Area Directors and their Councils Members; and, Club EXCOS and members who had worked hard and contributed to the resultant overall achievement of District 102 in 2018-2019. Of course, I shall not forget our two co-organizing chairs of the District annual conference who organized a high-standard and memorable talk-of the town Conference in Malacca on 26-28 April 2019. There are other contributors including the sponsors and donors who are too numerous for me to acknowledge. To them, I profoundly thank them.
The term has not finished yet. We are now in the process of planning to organize the Hall of Fame to award our late District Clubs Distinguished Achievers.
Two such events shall be held – one for clubs achievers in Central Region on 28 July 2019 (Sunday) in Kuala Lumpur and the other for clubs in Southern Region on 4 August 2019 (Sunday) in Johor Bahru. The respective Chairs for the two events are President Clement Chew and Past Division Director Eric Low. Please give them your fullest co-operation and support. Let us celebrate at the same time our District’s Distinguished Achievement!
With the above, I shall pen off now and wish all my fellow Toastmasters another resounding year of success for this current term.
